My week in Sweden 29.2-4.3

So again I’m at sweden, but this time in other school. It’s in vinslöv, witch is few miles from hässleholm. I’ll try to make this short so it won’t be too boring to read. so let’s get to it

Day 1. (29.2)
We left from my house at 9.15 and went to pick  up Venla and then drove to the airport. We met at the airport and did our checkings, our flight left at 12 o’clock and it went well.
We landed a bit early around 12:35 on the local time. We ate at the airport and me and my friends ate at BK (Burger King).
We went to the train and half of us dropped off in hässleholm and half of us continued to vinslöv.
We met our hosts at 15:30 and went to their houses. We ate and got to know each other little better.
We all met at Tova’s house who is Kielo’s host. We played truth or dare and ate popcorn.
After a lot of laughing we all left to our houses and went to bed.

Day 2 (1.3)
We woke up, ate and left to school, we attended to our hosts classes and one big difference is that their classes can be 80min long. After a few hour of staying in school we ate there and we started to walk to the Railway station. We hopped to the train and went to Hässleholm. There we had a city tour and we had to walk around the city and  we did the mission that the Swedish people had done us. After that we did some shopping and went to a cafe and wasted our time in the city. After a few hours we went to the school to watch a movie and spent the night. In the night went to Alice’s Place.

Day 3 (2.3)
After we had woke up we went to the school as normal. We stayed there for a few hours after we went to the Railway station and took a train to Kristianstad. First we visited the Naturum museum. Then we walked to the mall and did some shopping there. After about two hours we were so tired of shopping so we decided to went to eat. Then it was time to take the train back to Vinslöv. That night we went to Frida’s Place who is Maria’s host. We had a really nice night: we ate a lot and sang karaoke. One of the best nights we had here in Sweden. We had an awesome time together!

Day 4 (3.3)
After waking up we went to school and we were there all day. After school we went to our homes and then we went bowling. We had a competition full of laughing and good time. After bowling we ate some really good food. We had to sit next to a some Swedish people. There were hamburgers, ribs, pasta and salad. After the bowling night we went to Johannas place. We played just dance and it was so fun! Everyone danced and sang. When we had to leave, we were all pretty sad because it was our last night together.

Day 5 (4.3)
We woke up, left to school and now we’re writing this blog. Our plans are fllowing:
We leave to Hässleholm at 14:50 on a train and do our final shoppings. Our train to Copenhagen leaves at 16:44. We will chill at the airport and leave back to Finland.

Probably the biggest differences we noticed were
Lockers
Shoes inside
Benches outside the class
No trays in the cafeteria
Longer lessons
Gym in different building

My week at Sweden♥

So I spent my week at Sweden! I had so much fun and I’ll be telling you (trying to make this short) what we did!

9th of March, Monday: So our Monday started early and we left to the Airport with my mom. I grabbed some Coffee when we arrived and found the others. The flight left at 11:20 so we had Little time to shop and stuff so I bought Oreo chocolate to the airplane. We went to our plane and took pictures from the window. We landed to Copenhagen and the airport is little bigger than in Helsinki.. (remain the sarcasm) We walked to the Train station and started to speed closer to Hässleholm. By the time that we walked out of the train I got so nervous! I wasn’t nervous at first but damn! We met Swedish they were so nice and welcoming! We got to know each others and soon left our host families. Karolina’s mom took us to the house and it was big and really pretty! At five we all met at ola’s Place and just got to know each others better. We went outside and just played some ball games for about an hour. We went back and started eating. Ola’s mom made chili con carne and salad. It was good and after we all were done we started watching the Conjuring. I’ve seen it couple times but I didn’t mind. When the movie ended people started going home cause we had school on next day.

The class ended and we started heading to  P.E. Btw it was weird wearing shoes inside.. Me and Edit sitted at the side and ate skittles.. rest of the school day went by fast and at 12 we left to the country side. It was so pretty there. We went to back to the school at 3 o’clock. The night we spent at Li’s house and ate delicious pizza! We watched a movie called the wolf of wall street and just got to know each other better.

I just don’t know what is it but i love shopping!!♥ When we all started getting hungry we walked to subway and bought food. When we were done eating we decided to go few more shops. After that we went to candy shop and bought loats of candy! okay not probably that much but still 😉 we walked to the train station and left back to Hässleholm. The night we were at Elof’s place and we had so much fun! The house was so pretty and we just listened music and ate candy and chips.

12th of March, Thursday: Back to school! Nooo! I just want to sleep! We got dressed and hopped to the school buss starting our last full day at Sweden. We had home economics and hand drafts. After school we walked around Hässleholm buying some gifts and did our last shoppings! We had our last night at Nadja’s and we ate tacos! I LOVE TACOS! Since it was the last night some of us went to the trampoline! It was fun and rest of the night we just listened music and talked to each others! All left around 11-12 pm and damn I was tired! When we arrived to my host we just went to bed.

13th of March, Friday: NO! I don’t want to leave! We left for school for few hours and then it was time to go to the railway station. I’m really sad that our week is over.. But I’m happy that it wasn’t our last goodbyes. We took a group pictures and gave hugs. We said our goodbyes and stepped in to the train. We travelled back to Copenhagen and then got to the airport. We flew back to Finland and took our luggages. Everybody were tired but still everyone managed to have a smile on our faces. I’ll have to thank our school and teachers for making this possible, i’ll never forget my week. I got new friends get to know swedish school and had probably the best week of my whole life! I kept talking about my week for so long and I’ll never forget it!

Finnish candy♥

So hello guys!

This post is NOT going to be a recipe! This will be a talking post about finnish Candy! If you’re interested just keep reading!

So let’s start with chocolate! The father of Finnish chocolate is Karl Fazer (or actually a god).

Karl Fazer studied to be a confectioner in Berlin and Paris! Pretty good huh?
So I personally adore him cause he makes the best chocolate in the whole world!♥

But you know he’s dead already.. But EVERYONE in Finland knows who he is. Well mabey some people only know that Fazer is a Candy and Chocolate brand!

I have tasted a chocolate that’s from America and the difference between finnish and American chocolate is that Finnish is more creamy and kinda taste “richer”  and American chocolate is a lot more sugary!

I’m happy that I almost get to eat Fazer milk chocolate everyday! And by the way! there are so many chocolate flavors!

Like: Strawberry, Blueberry, Pear, Orange, Red berries, Liquorice, Chili and crips, Soft hazelnut filling

And many more!

But now it’s time to move over to Salmiakki! It’s a salty liquorice, and Karl Fazer has a chocolate that has salmiakki liquid inside! Yummy!

Salmiakki occurs only in Nordic countries, Germany and in Neatherlands! I think it’s delicious!

Salmiakki is usually shaped like this ♦

Many American people haven’t liked it from what I’ve seen! Candy is supposed to be sweet? well not in Finland! Salmiakki is a whole different Candy! Well of course we have good other candies and sweets but Salmiakki is what we finnish people recognize ourselfs.

I think that’s it! But if i should say my top 3 Fazer chocolate it would be Geisha, Dumble and the original. In Finland we call it Fazers Blue. I think it’s just because the cover is blue. But anyway I really love ’em all!
You Tube has many videos with people tasting finnish candy! I’ve watched few and i found them funny! If you’re interested go and check some out!

I hope you will have a sweet week! Love Ems

Fredrika’s Fountain (Cafe visiting)

So I visited this organic vegetarian cafe lunch place, that’s called Fredrika’s Fountain. I really liked it and it was so cozy.
Fredrika’s Fountain is located in Porvoo which is Finland’s second oldest town, a beautiful city full of history and I’m happy to live in it.
It’s also a yoga place where different people come and teach yoga from different cultures. I didn’t went to yoga but i bet it’s great!
The cafe’s logo was a lotus flower

IMG_1010

That’s a picture from inside where we sat. There were also different Tea’s and all of them smelled sooo delicious.

IMG_1011

I took Indian Lemon and my mom took Rooibos wich is a African red bush tea. Then the pie pieces! Also delicious! I had a pecan pie, and my mom took non baked mango chocolate pie!

IMG_1013

They were so good! To be truthful I’ve never tasted as good pie before as the pecan pie! So good, and the tea was refreshing!

IMG_1015

The mango pie was really filling and it had really heavy texture.
Here’s some more pictures that I took

Finnish donuts❤️

So last week we did these kinda donuts with holes in them. BUT me and maria did little different ones. In finnish it’s called ‘rosetti’. And i’ll be sharing the recipe with you guys! Let’s get to it! Ingredients👇

There’s also the iron that you’ll need. But here are the Ingredients again

  1. 1 egg
  2. 1,25 cups of flour
  3. 1,25 cups of milk
  4. Little bit of salt

So the next thing is to but the oil to a pot with thick bottom.

Then it’s time to just mix them all in a bowl. Yeah i know it might get hard but you’ll get over it✋

Then it’s time to prepare your thing around the oil pot. Take a big plate or a tray and put paper towles on top of it. Take a little plate and put a slotted spoon on top of it so you can take the rosetties up from the oil.

Then pour the mixture to a smaller bowl and take the rosetti iron that you saw on the first picture!

Warm the iron in the oil and when you take it out don’t dip it to the mixture imidietly! Wait for a while cause we doesn’t want much oil to the mixture. Now dip it in but remember that you’ll need to get it off so don’t dip it all the way.

Dip it in the oil and wait till it’s like golden brown.

The first one will probably not leave the iron easily so just pick the iron and try to get it off to the paper towles.

Then just repeat the same till the mixture gets lumpy cause then you can’t do them anymore. If you want you can do a new mixture again and start doing them again. We did it two times and we thought that that was enough. You can add some powdered sugar on top of them and mabey a little of vanilla sugar! But that’s pretty much it! Hope you enjoyed the recipe and have a lovely week💕

Lemon maringue cake💖

So few weeks ago we did the most delicious Maringue cake! It was so good and pretty easy! It’s a three layer cake and i loved making it! Let’s get to the recipe!

Dough:

  1. 100g butter
  2. 0,8 cups of flour
  3. 1 tbsp of sugar
  4. 4 tbsp of milk
  5. 1/4 tsp of salt

Lemon filling:

  1. 2 lemons
  2. 0,6 cups of sugar
  3. 1,6 cups of water
  4. 4 egg yolks
  5. 4 tbsp potato flour
  6. 2 tbsp of butter

Maringue:

  1. 4 egg whites
  2. 0,5 of powdered sugar

First mix the butter and flours with your fingers. It should look something like this👇

Next add the milk, sugar and salt till it’s smooth! Put it in the oven for 20 minutes on 200 degrees.

Next thing is the lemon filling and dear lord it was so good! Put potato flours, sugar, water, butter, lemon juice and egg yolks in to a little pot. When the mixture bubbles stir! The mixture will get lumpy if you won’t stir it!

It’s soo yummy💖

Next thing to do is the maringue. Mix the egg whites till it’s foam! Then add the sugar👇

When the cake base is ready put the lemon filling on top of it👇

Then it’s time to add the maringue👇

When it’s all over the top try to make little high spots with spoon. 👇

Then it’s time to put it in the oven just for a little while till the maringue gets little color👇

Then it’s ready! Yummy!

Hope you enjoyed the recipe and have a lovely week💖  ~love Ems

Oreo cake pops

Happy late Valentine’s Day!  So i was thought that I would have posted this on Valentine’s Day but I ran out of time so I posted this now! yay!

Ingredients:

picmonkey 1

Amounts:

9 Oreos/Dominos

200 grams of chocolate

150 grams of orange cream cheese

Some lollipop sticks (about 20) or something that you can put the cake in

and

!SPRINKELS!

So the first thing to do is to smash the Oreos/Dominoes

picmonkey2

Then add the orange cream cheese to the (in my case) Dominoes and mix them together! hope that it’ll look something like this

picmonkey4

Well you know maybe not like those hearts but I think that you know what I’m talking about.

Back to the recipe!

Start doing little balls from the mixture

picmonkey5

When you’re done take the lollipop sticks and dip the end of the sticks in melted chocolate and push the stick in the little balls that you just made and it’ll end up looking like this

picmonkey 6

Then you have to put them in to fridge for 2 hours. But I kinda cheated ’cause I had mine in freezer for about half of hour

When you get your almost done cake pops out of the fridge or freezer melt the chocolate and start covering them in chocolate!

picmonkey7

Add some sprinkles and put them in the fridge for half of hour.

And that’s pretty much it! I had my cake pops tugged in oranges so that the chocolate would stay smooth from the surface

picmonkey8

I’m so sorry that I didn’t post this on Valentine’s Day but I hope that you will enjoy the recipe and have a lovely winter break!

Loving regards Ems

1 cup of flaked oats
1 tsp of baking powder
3/4 tsp of salt
